Denise is an English actress widely recognised for her siren TV characters in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Bad Girls. And especially for her portrayal of Hazel in Russell T Davies' iconic Channel 4 series 'Queer as Folk' (currently streaming on All4) and 'Cucumber'.

She has toured the globe in Shakespeare, Shaw, Albee, Ackbourn, Lorca and Chekhov. She's also run bands, produced plays and won awards - most recently Best Performance in a Play for The Cherry Orchard. 

She recently appeared in Terence Rattigan's "The Deep Blue Sea" at Chichester Festival Theatre and sang at Brighton Pride. Your next chance to catch her will be on stage at the BFI with Russell T Davies for a 20 year anniversary Q and A and screening of Queer As Folk (that's Thurs Aug 8th!), and then on the big screen in The Last Tree - a feature film by Shola Amoo that will be released in UK Picture Houses from Sept 20th '19.
